APPEA Webinar Unpacking COP26 Glasgow
APPEA Webinar – COP26: Unpacking the Glasgow Climate Change Conference
This November the world’s leaders will gather for the UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow (COP26). The summit has set the goal of negotiating higher and faster emissions reduction targets to achieve the objectives of the Paris Agreement. The pressure to increase global action on emissions is acute, and yet at the same time the world is also grappling with the impacts of the pandemic and the need to stimulate economic recovery.
Alongside the negotiations, a key task of the conference is finalising the ‘Paris Rulebook’, the rules needed to implement the 2015 Paris Agreement, and conclude outstanding issues from COP25 in Madrid.
This session will feature Susie Smith, CEO of the Australian Industry Greenhouse Network (AIGN), Arthur Lee, Chevron Fellow and Senior Strategy Advisor, Energy Transition Team, Chevron Corporation and Damian Dwyer, Deputy Chief Executive, APPEA in a panel discussion that goes behind the headlines of COP26 and unpacks the conference proceedings, with a focus on the negotiations and outcomes significant to Australia and our oil and gas industry.
This is a complimentary webinar open to APPEA Members, Government and Key Stakeholders.
